MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Nov. 20, 2017) – Youth Villages on Friday celebrated the grand opening of its newest facility, the Paula Prudhomme Wellness Center, located on the organization’s Dogwood Campus in Arlington.
Named in memory of Paula Prudhomme, daughter of former board member Mark Prudhomme and his wife, Kay, the 4,800-square-foot medical facility includes space for nursing staff, doctor and psychiatrist visits, as well as counseling staff offices, training and meeting rooms.
“Having a facility like the Paula Prudhomme Wellness Center is important to the health and well-being for the 88 children on our Dogwood Campus,” said Patrick Lawler, CEO of Youth Villages. “Mark Prudhomme was one of our first board members, and along with his wife, Kay, has been a supporter of our organization for more than 30 years. We are honored to name this building in memory of their daughter.”
The Paula Prudhomme Wellness Center was designed by br3gs architects, with construction by Linkous Construction. Landscaping was provided by Good Winds Landscape.
“When our daughter, Paula, was at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital so many years ago, it was the doctors and nurses who were there to comfort her, as well as our family,” Mark Prudhomme said. “We’re thankful that the Paula Prudhomme Wellness Center will allow doctors and nurses at the Dogwood Campus to provide that same comfort, healing and care to many children for years to come.”
