Managing Director – Compliance and Performance Improvement
As managing director – compliance and performance improvement, Hughes Johnson is responsible for managing the quality and training programs for Youth Villages’ employees, as well as managing organizational audits and the clinical records system.
In addition to serving as the director of performance improvement, Johnson has held several other positions at Youth Villages, including assistant director of PI and interim director of the Bartlett Campus. He also served as a recreation therapy supervisor, where he planned and facilitated experiential learning for young people with conduct disorders, problem sexual behaviors and intellectual disabilities.
Johnson earned a bachelor of science degree in physical education from the University of Tennessee at Martin and a masters of science degree in recreation therapy from the University of Memphis.
He is on the executive committee of the Tennessee Alliance for Children and Families, sits on the Joint Commission Behavioral Health Care Advisory Council for Children and Youth, and serves as an elder at Christ Presbyterian Church.
