Candace Steele Flippin
Since 2016, Dr. Steele Flippin has been an executive research fellow at Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management where she conducts research on the different generations in the workplace. She is the author of Generation Z in the Workplace and Millennials in the Workplace and co-editor of the American Society on Aging Generations Journal issue Generation X: From Fiction to Fact, and Still a Mystery.
Noted for her adeptness with leveraging communications to drive organizational change and revenue growth, she has led communications for multiple Fortune 500 companies in the financial services, healthcare, medical device and the bio pharmaceutical industries. Prior to joining First Horizon, she was divisional vice president of public affairs for Abbott, vice president of external communications at St. Jude Medical and previously held leadership positions Sunovion Pharmaceuticals and Ketchum Public Relations.
The Network Journal recently honored her as one of the 25 Influential Black Women in Business. Dr. Steele Flippin currently serves on the board of directors of the Memphis Symphony Orchestra and the Memphis River Parks Partnership.
She earned her Doctor of Management at Case Western Reserve University, an MBA from Johns Hopkins University and her BA in History of Art from the University of Michigan. She also holds an Accreditation in Public Relations. She a member of the Arthur Page Society.
She is a Memphis, TN native and lives in Memphis with her husband, Thomas.
