It is amazing when you meet someone like Sahar, who aged out of foster care with no family supporting and expecting a little one of her own, but thanks to the YVLifeSet program she recently graduated from college at MTSU with a degree in Psychology. Sahar balanced working, going to school and being a mother while maintaining a 3.8 GPA and graduating Magnum Cum Laude. Her next goal is being a counselor with Youth Villages to help kids like her!
It is amazing what our young people accomplish every day in the YVLifeSet program. Sometime accomplishments are graduating college and other ones are getting their first job. For many of these youth who age out of foster care without support, things can turn out very differently for them, but with the help of the YVLifeSet program, nearly 300 Middle Tennessee youth will have access to services as they transition into adulthood.
Ali is a shining example of the amazing outcomes achieved by participating in the YVLifeSet program. Ali aged-out of foster care, at age 18, and with the help of the YVLifeSet program, graduated from Austin Peay, and recently accepted a position with the Department of Children’s Services! She truly is “defying the odds!”
Help more youth, like Ali, “Defy the odds” and reach their milestone moments in the YVLifeSet program.
Your support will ensure services to more than 300 Middle Tennessee youth in the YVLifeSet program. Consider making a gift today…because these kids are worth it! -
