Caroline is proud of: "using my talents in my work and helping children and families since I have been so fortunate in life."
Caroline Harvey came to Youth Villages as a behavior specialist but soon moved into foster care, first as a counselor and, after a promotion, as a clinical liaison. Opportunities for advancement and close supervision by team leaders first attracted Caroline to Youth Villages.
Now in her third position at Youth Villages, she is also participating in the organization's tuition reimbursement program to obtain a master's degree in social work from UT.
Describing a typical day on her job is impossible for Caroline. "I meet with schools, birth parents, the Department of Children's Services, the courts. Every day is different, and I am never bored," she says.
Among her responsibilities are holding therapy sessions with foster children, setting up visits for birth families and siblings, attending supervision and team meetings and handling any crises that come up.
Caroline loves most about her job that it allows her to do something that truly matters. "I make a difference in children's and families' lives. The mission and values of Youth Villages are spectacular, and the employees believe in them and follow them. I love my team!"
