Youth Villages serves families in Washington, D.C. through intensive in-home services

Youth Villages began treating young people in the foster care system in Washington, D.C. in 2005 using Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST).

Success in Washington, D.C.
Youth Villages programs work in Washington, D.C. Based on research conducted one year post-discharge,* of children from Washington, D.C, who received at least 60 days of service in the MST program:

  • 65% of youth are at home with family
  • 72% of youth report no trouble with the law
  • 86% of youth are in school, have graduated from high school, or are in GED classes

*These percentages reflect outcomes recorded through March 2011

Multisystemic Therapy (MST)

In Washington, D.C., Youth Villages provides Multisystemic Therapy in the home. MST has been demonstrated to be successful in helping young people age 12 to 17 who display serious antisocial behaviors and are at-risk of placement out of the home due to their behaviors. Learn more about MST.
