Johnathan celebrated his 14th birthday at the Youth Villages residential campus in Bartlett. This is a pivotal time for him, a time when he needs to put a difficult childhood behind him and start thinking about his future. Johnathan is learning about the world of work through participation in the FedEx Career Prep Program, an outgrowth of the Youth Villages Ambassador effort. The program pairs Youth Villages' young people with FedEx executives who become mentors.

"I really like the program," Johnathan says. "It shows me that there are people who care about me and want to help me. My mentor, Donnie Twyman, has helped me with my social skills and taught me what it's like on a job. I wouldn't mind working at FedEx one day."
