Richard Shaw
Chief Development Officer
As chief development officer, Richard Shaw is responsible for overseeing fundraising and community outreach initiatives throughout all markets served by Youth Villages.
He joined Youth Villages in 2005 after serving for seven years at the Memphis Regional Chamber where he was senior vice president of organizational development.
In addition to his extensive success at The Chamber, Shaw gained national experience as director of annual giving and operations at the prestigious Jimmy V Foundation for Cancer Research based in Cary, North Carolina. He also was a development officer at the University of Maryland Athletic Department and worked in athletic recruiting at the University of Tennessee (UT) in Knoxville, where he received a Bachelor's degree in education.
Shaw serves on the board of directors for the 100 Club of Memphis and the Memphis Grant Center. He is a member of Downtown Memphis Rotary and is a volunteer in the Rotary Reader Program. He has received several honors, including the 1998-1999 National Association of Membership Development Award of Excellence and being named to the Memphis Business Journal's "Top 40 Under 40" for 2000.
