Do you have any part-time positions available?

The majority of our positions are full-time. We occasionally offer part-time positions. All of our open positions are listed on the website and change daily. If you have a Master's Degree in the social services field, our Specialized Crisis Services program does hire for PRN positions.

How soon are you looking to fill this position?

Positions are posted as soon as there is an opening; however, we do look for non-immediate positions for growth in our programs.

When can I resubmit my application?

You can resubmit your application after 90 days for the same position.  Interview records are kept on file for at least one year.

Can I fax or email my resume?

We do not accept resumes via email or fax.  The only way our hiring managers can review your information is through the online application.

When will I hear back about my application?

The recruiting team reviews all applications within 48 business hours of receiving them.  After your application is evaluated, it will either be submitted to the hiring manager or you will receive an email to inform you that you were not selected as a candidate based on the information provided.  The hiring manager or a recruiter will contact interview candidate within two weeks to start the interview process. If you have not heard anything at that time, please contact your local recruiter who will be happy to check the status of your application. Emailing or leaving a message is often the best way to reach the recruiters -- allowing them the opportunity to pull your information before calling you back. You can also check the status of your application by logging back into your candidate profile and select View Application Status.

What is a typical day in the life of a Youth Villages employee?

Since YV offers so many programs and we are dealing with at risk youth and their families, there is no predictable day. Visit our Program Opportunities page to learn a little more about the type of career paths available. Be sure to visit our Careers Blog for leadership profiles, career advice and more.

What benefits does Youth Villages have to offer?

Visit our Benefits page to read more.

Are internships paid?

Summer internships are paid for a 10-week program. Fall and spring internships are for class credit only.

Is intern housing provided?

Summer interns in Memphis can take advantage of very affordable housing on a local university in campus apartments. Most of our interns coming from out of the city take advantage of this option. More information is provided during the interview process as well as upon acceptance into the program.

Will I receive training before I begin the internship?

Most interns go through Youth Villages’ weeklong orientation training. All interns also receive training before working in any of programs. The length of training and its content depends on the location, program, and student responsibilities.

What are the qualifications to be an intern?

You must be 21 years of age or a rising junior in college. You must have an acceptable driving record of no more than two accidents or tickets within the past three years as well as pass a background check and drug screening. Most interns have degrees in the social services field. Occasionally we place interns with other backgrounds.
