Q: Do you have any Part Time positions available?
A: The majority of our positions are Full Time; however, we occasionally have part time positions. All of our open positions are listed on our website and change daily. If you have a Master's Degree in the social services field, our Specialized Crisis Services program does hire for PRN positions.
Q: What is a typical day in the life of a Youth Villages' Employee?
A: Since YV offers so many programs and we are dealing with at risk youth and their families, there is no predictable day. However, we do offer some examples in our Day in the Life Section or you can read first hand accounts from employees in the Employee Bios Section. Q: When should I expect to hear from a hiring manager concerning my application status?
A: You should be hearing something from the hiring manager within a 1-2 week period. If you have not heard anything at that time, please contact your local recruiter who will be happy to check the status of your application. Emailing or leaving a message is often the best way to reach the recruiters -- giving them the opportunity to pull your information before calling you back.

Q: Are internships paid?
A: Summer internships are paid for ten week program. Fall and Spring internships are for class credit only.
Q: Is housing provided?
A: Summer interns in Memphis, TN, can take advantage of very affordable housing on a local university in campus apartments. Most of our interns coming from out of city take advantage of this option. More information is provided during the interview process as well as upon acceptance into the program.
Q: Will I receive training before I begin the internship?
A: Most interns go through Youth Villages four - five day orientation training. All interns receive training before working in any of programs though -- the length of training and its content depends on the location, program, and student responsibilities.
Q: What are the qualifications to be an intern?
A: You must be 21 years of age or a rising junior in college. You must have an acceptable driving record of no more than 2 accidents or tickets within the past 3 years as well as pass a background check, and drug screening. Most interns have degrees in the social services field. Occasionally we place interns with other backgrounds.
