Francis Agunenye, Campus Director - Bartlett

Francis Agunenye

Dr. Francis Agunenye brings one of the most interesting, international backgrounds to the leadership team at Youth Villages. Born in West Africa in the pre-war dawn of the Nigerian-Biafra war, Dr. Agunenye moved to Italy in his later teen years. He graduated from the Pontifical Gregorian University with a bachelor's degree in practical philosophy and from Pontifical Salesian University with a master's degree in education. In addition, he earned a master's degree in mental health from Walden University and a doctorate degree in Christian counseling from the Carolina University of Theology.

Since joining Youth Villages as an overnight teacher counselor at the Deer Valley campus in 1997, Agunenye has served as a cottage supervisor, program manager, residential counselor, clinical manager, supervisor, and consultant at the Deer Valley Campus. After Deer Valley, Agunenye served as the West Tennessee community-based program regional manager before becoming director of the Bartlett Campus.

About Us
Youth Villages is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to helping emotionally and behaviorally troubled children and their families live successfully. We help more than 22,000 children and families each year from more than 20 states and Washington, D.C. Our Evidentiary Family Restoration® approach involves intensive work with the child and family, a focus on measuring outcomes, keeping children in the community whenever safely possible, and providing accountability to families and funders. The EFR approach produces lasting success for children with success rates twice that of traditional services at one-third the cost of traditional care.
