Emily Acker, Director of Residential Programs - Georgia

Emily Acker

Prior to serving as the director of residential programs in Georgia, Emily Acker was director of the Youth Villages -  Inner Harbour Campus in Douglasville, Ga., one of Georgia’s largest intensive residential treatment centers.

Acker joined the Inner Harbour staff in 1988 as a direct care counselor in the outdoors program. She has worked for the campus for more than 15 years and served as administrator before the merger with Youth Villages.

Acker has a bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of the South at Sewanee and a master’s degree in administration from Central Michigan University.

Youth Villages is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to helping emotionally and behaviorally troubled children and their families live successfully.
