Centrally located, Paris, TN is within a days drive to over 74% of the US population. Paris has maintained a small town charm and with a thriving downtown area, which in the mid 1990’s was restored to its original 1920’s style. Downtown Paris offers a unique shopping experience with over 40 merchants, including specialty antique shops. While visiting downtown, take some time out to take the historical audio tour that winds through the North Poplar Street historic district and Old City Cemetery which are both include on the National Register of Historic Places. Paris also boasts the Henry Count Court House, one of the state’s oldest working courthouses, the Paris-Henry County Heritage Center, and Grove Tower.
Kentucky Lake and Paris Landing State Park, as well as the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation area offers a number of activities for nature loves and outdoor enthusiasts. With over 2000 miles of shore line, Kentucky Lake is the largest man made lake in the United States, second largest in the world. Visitors can enjoy an afternoon of golfing, picnicking, swimming boating, and fishing. The Land Between the Lakes National Recreation area offers 170,000 acres of wildlife, hiking, mountain biking, hunting and horseback trails.
Paris is also home to the World’s Largest Fish Fry, which brings tens of thousands of visitors to the area each April, as well as the local Pioneer Days Celebration and the Taste of Paris. Finally, a trip to Paris is not complete with out a trip to Memorial Park, home to a 60 ft. tall replica of the Eiffel Tower.
Youth Villages began serving children in families in 1994 and currently provides Intensive- Home Based Counseling and Therapeutic Foster care in Benton, Carroll, Henry, Houston, Humphreys, Stewart and Weakley counties.
